Spoken Word With Soul: Poetry That Speaks Life

Where Rhythm Meets Resistance and Reflection

For as long as I can remember, poetry has been my voice when words failed me and my anchor when the world felt unsteady. I began writing these pieces at just 19 years old—pen in hand, heart wide open—capturing stories, truths, and emotions I couldn't always speak aloud. Over time, those quiet pages became powerful declarations.

Today, they live and breathe through my performance poetry and two published collections:
Poems for Our Daughters and Poems for Our Sons.

These are more than books. They are spoken-word journeys through identity, strength, vulnerability, and hope. With each poem, I offer an invitation: to rise, to heal, to question, to grow.

Poems for our Sons

A collection of 100 powerful spoken-word poems to uplift and empower young boys, teenagers and men of colour as they navigate the storms and triumphs of life. From the weight of expectations to the struggle of being seen, from self-love to self-belief, these poems speak to the heart of your journey. They aim to shatter stigma, build confidence, and celebrate every part of you — the strength, the vulnerability, the magic, and the fire.

Poems for our Daughters

A collection of 98 powerful, rhythmic spoken word poems crafted to uplift, motivate, and inspire young girls, teenagers, and women of colour as they navigate life’s hurdles. In a world that often presents challenges, this book is a reminder of their worth, strength, and limitless potential.
Inside you'll find 12 empowering chapters which explore themes that resonate deeply with the Black experience, guiding young Black Queens through their journey of self-discovery, healing, and growth. Each chapter is written to empower, encourage, and foster resilience.
